28th Sailing for Leukemia may have been the hottest yet
Organizers of the 28th annual Sail for Leukemia event held last weekend at Lake City Marina and hosted by Lake City Yacht Club reported fewer riders (possibly due to the heat) but solid donations.
“Contending with what may have been record heat for our event, we took a total of 546 guests for sailboat rides between Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27,” said Beth Skatrud. “Guests attending Sunday were down significantly, but we still had over 140 people show up for rides Sunday!”
