Corrected: Tour De Pepin registrations on record-setting pace

This Tour De Pepin is on pace to be the biggest yet.

With nearly 900 bicycle riders registered as of May 23, registrations are about 50 ahead of last year at this time, according to Brandy Geolat, the interim events coordinator for the Lake City Chamber of Commerce.

Ridership last year topped 900, Geolat said, thanks to about 100 same-day registrations.

If the same number of people turn up on June 3, ridership could surpass 1,000 for the first time.

“I have a good feeling about it,” Geolat said.
