Author Barbara Deese will be the guest speaker at the Lake City Public Library Tuesday, May 9, at 6:30 p.m.
Growing up in Anoka, Minn. with a family of voracious readers, Deese feels at home with people who love a good story. Her twisty career path almost began in the foreign service after college, but life took an unexpected turn when she became one of 33 female air marshals in the U.S.
