Registration open for 5K-9 and pet look-alike contest
The Hiawatha Animal Humane Society will hold its annual 5K-9 Fun Walk/Run with dogs on Saturday, Oct. 16.
The race starts at 9 a.m., and check-in begins at 8:15 a.m. The course begins and ends at BARK, LLC., 1500 W. Marion Street in Lake City. Microchipping and nail trimming services will be available.
New this year is the Pet Look Alike contest, which begins immediately after the race.
“If you don’t naturally resemble your pet, costumes are encouraged,” the humane society said in a news release.
