Scouts assist with ‘honorable disposal’ of unserviceable American flags

On March 23, Lake City’s BSA Troop 94 joined the VFW Post 8729 and Auxiliary along with the American Legion Post 110 to conduct a flag retirement ceremony. Unserviceable flags collected by the Scouts were inspected and given an honorable disposal. Participation in the ceremony not only gave an opportunity for reflection and reverence, but also gave the Scouts an opportunity to live their oath to do their duty “to God and country.”

Troop 94 is thankful for the mentorship and guidance provided by the members of the VFW, Auxiliary, and American Legion.
