Council okays hospice deal
A divided Lake City City Council approved the development agreement for the Lake City Sanctuary Hospice.
The agreement outlines the responsibilities of the city and developers with regard to a tax abatement that will help fund the $7 million project.
The abatement will refund property tax revenues over the amount currently generated by the property for 20 years or up to $800,000, whichever happens first.
With the city’s participation secured, the developers will seek a similar arrangement with Wabasha County.
