Wabasha County Board approves radiation reception center agreements

Wabasha County Commissioners on March 21 approved a letter of agreement between Wabasha County Public Health and the Wabasha-Kellogg Schools for a Radiation Reception Center at Wabasha-Kellogg High School.

Public Health partners with the Department of Human Services and the City of Wabasha to open the fixed-site radiological emergency reception center in case a “site area emergency” or “general emergency” are declared at the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant at Welch, about 45 miles north of Wabasha.
