Frank Sievers Obituary

Frank A. Sievers, 76, of Lake City, passed away peacefully at his home Friday, July 14, 2017, with his family by his side.  
    Frank Alvin Sievers was born Sept. 15, 1940 in Lake City to Alvin and Evelyn (Brunkhorst) Sievers.  He attended St. John’s Lutheran School and Lincoln High School.  He married Joanne Parmeter on Dec. 19, 1964.  
    Frank lived his entire lifetime in Lake City.  He farmed on the family farm in rural Lake City until 1966.  He then worked as a painter at Di-Acro in Lake City until 1984.  He then started Sievers and Sons Painting and Repairs and worked until his retirement in 2004.  Frank also drove school bus for Tiedeman and now Grisim School Bus Service for 25 years.  Frank was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City where he served on many church boards.  He was also a member of the Lake City City Council for approximately 14 years, and was a member of many city boards during this time.  He was a member of the Lake City Kiwanis Club.  Frank loved gardening, fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
    Frank is survived by his loving wife, Joanne of Lake City; three sons, Troy (Tina) Sievers of Plainview, Greg (Becky) Sievers of Lake City and Erik (Lisa) Sievers of Rushford; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Katlin, Nickolas, Isabell, Jonah, Laci and Eve; four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Aubree, Annabell and Paxton; three brothers, Clyde Sievers of Norwalk, Iowa, William (Gail) Sievers of Albert Lea, Minn. and Stanley (Joye) Sievers of Windsor Locks, Cont.; three sisters, Carol (Alvin) Larson of Mankato, Minn., Anna (Kurt) Sumption of St. Peter, Minn., and Delores Sievers of Casper, Wyo.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ivan Sievers.
    Funeral service for Frank Sievers will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Dan Reich officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson Peterson Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
