Marcella Haglund Obituary

    The funeral service for Marcella Haglund will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City with Pastor Nathan Cordes officiating.  Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lake City.
    Marcella Virginia Haglund, 88, of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus in Rochester.  She was born Feb. 15, 1930 in Plainview to Francis and Emilia (Stephan) Prebe.  She lived her entire lifetime in the Lake City area.  In 1946 Marcella married Douglas Heins and was later divorced.  On July 28, 1950 she married Lavern “Bud” Haglund in Lake City.
    Marcella worked at Jewell Nursery for many years and also did a lot of babysitting over the years.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City and the Ladies Aid.  She loved to read, sew, gardening and canning the garden produce for her family.  She also enjoyed going camping, playing cards, and liked to help Bud do carpentry work.
    Marcella is survived by her children, Sandra (Jerry Buck) Soine of Lake City, Virginia (Floyd) Maiwald of Shell Knob, Mo., Gloria (Barry) Holst of Goodhue, Stephanie (Bill) Sexton of Millville, Marcene (Richard) Moyer of Lake City, Sherryl (Rob Banks) Haglund of Lake City, Jon (Lorraine) Heins of Grand Meadow, Tom (Sandi) Haglund of Plainview and Al (Geri) Haglund, Jr. of Red Wing and Texas; 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Morehouse, Mary Glander, Dee (Jack) Kautz, Marlene (Stanley) Schuchard and Joyce (Dave Richardson) Scholer, all of Lake City and Darlene Domke of Altura; brothers, Donald (Becky) Prebe of Elba and Bob (Joanne) Prebe of Helena Mont.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, one brother, one grandchild, and three great-grandchildren.
    Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
