Mary A. Zell Obituary

The memorial service for Mary A. Zell will be at 11  a.m. on Saturday, July 15, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Fr. Joseph Pete officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Lake City.
    Mary, 84, a longtime resident of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at her home.
    Mary Alice Zell was born May 30, 1933 in Lake City to Alfred and Alice (Fick) Zell.  She attended the Mary E. McCahill School in Lake City.  After graduating, she worked at the counter at Pepin Pastry Shop.  She then worked in the kitchen at the Lake City Hospital before transferring to purchasing, where she worked until her retirement in 1998.  Mary enjoyed gardening, crafting, playing cards and games, and chronicling family and Lake City history through photography and films.  She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church.
    Mary is survived by her brother, Willard (Shirley) Zell of Lake City; nieces, Jayne Zell of Lake City and Mary (Timothy) Dallman of Rochester; and nephew, Mark (MaryG) Zell of Round Rock, Texas.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Evelyn Lu Zell.
    Friends and family may visit from 10  a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday, July 15.
