Morris Heitman Obituary
Morris Heitman, 81, of Lake City passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Health Care in Wabasha.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1937 to Emil and Marcella (Fick) Heitman in Lake City. He attended country school and also attended St. John’s Parochial School. He graduated from Lincoln High School.
Morris married Marlis (Klindworth) on Nov. 30, 1956. Together they farmed in the Oak Center area. They were blessed with three children. Morris was a dairy farmer for over 30 years. He then went to work as an insurance agent for Gillford Mutual. He was also a crop insurance agent and adjuster for American Ag. He did these things until his retirement. His love for farming never ended.
Morris is survived by his wife, Marlis of 61 years; children, Steve (Dawn) Heitman of Lake City, Pam (Jeff) Siegenthaler of Eyota, Minn., and Lisa of Blooming Prairie, Minn. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cedric, Donald and Larry Heitman, sister-in-law, Beverely and his parents.
Funeral service will be Friday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran in Lake City with Rev. Nathan Cordes officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 8 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
