SuzAnne Olson obituary

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on April 12, 1940, in Stillwater, Minnesota, SuzAnne spent her entire life rooted in the community she loved, raising her own family in the same town where she was raised.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Ken Olson; children, Kirsten (Greg) Ross, Peter (Marsha) Olson, Susan (Damien) Nelson, and Eric (Jen) Olson; brother, Jon (Kathy) Schmoeckel; and 11 cherished grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Vi Schmoeckel; and brother, Steve Schmoeckel.
SuzAnne had a deep love for life’s simple pleasures and the people who filled it. She treasured time spent at her parents’ cabin on Big Carnelian Lake, where family memories were made across generations. She had a gift for bringing people together, whether at family gatherings, tending to her garden, or enjoying dinners at the Stillwater Country Club. Her love of knitting and sewing brought her quiet joy and allowed her to share handmade gifts with those she held dear. Each winter, she and Ken escaped to the warm shores of Sanibel, Florida, where she delighted in shelling the beach - a ritual that brought her great peace.
SuzAnne will be deeply and greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, grace, and love leave an enduring mark on the hearts of her family and friends.
Funeral Service 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 115 4th St. N., Stillwater, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church.
