To the editor:

With the untimely and unfortunate resignation of the late Mary Lou Waltman, our city council and mayor had the opportunity to seat a new voice of Lake City’s residents.

With the past elections still fresh in our minds it should have been an easy choice for them to make. With three of the top four vote getters being seated to the city council and the the candidate with the fourth most votes (John Mead) not being seated.
