Legion baseball team heads into playoffs

The Lake City Legion baseball team was defeated 6-5 by Spring Grove last Thursday in a weather shortened last home game of the season.  The two teams endured hot sun, humidity, thunder, wind and dust, and finally heavy rain which limited the game to four innings.
Shaky pitching was Post 110’s undoing as the visitors benefitted from eight walks and two hit batters to go with their five hits.  Lake City also committed three errors, but all of Spring Grove’s runs were earned.
