Council votes to allow ‘The Wave’ sculpture back in Ohuta Park

Efforts to restore “The Wave,” a sculpture honoring the invention of water skiing in Lake City, got a boost Monday when the Lake City City Council narrowly voted to allow the sculpture to return to its original location.

For decades the sculpture was in Ohuta Park, occupying a space overlooking the spot where, in 1922, Ralph Samuelson became the first person to water ski.
