Donation gives lift to coming Lake City Airport exhibit

A planned exhibit on the history of the Lake City Airport will include photos from the family of a prominent user of the airport, Lake City business owner John Lowrie.

Lowrie owned the The Terrace Supper Club in Lake City. The photos show Lowrie with family, friends, associates and, of course, aircraft.

A 1947 article from the Graphic entitled “Lowries, southern drawl, return on Monday by plane” tells of the Lowrie family’s trip to Biloxi, Miss. aboard Lowrie’s twin-engine Cessna:
