Water Ski Days parade route adjusted due to street construction

The Lake City Chamber of Commerce would like to notify residents, visitors, parade participants, and businesses of a last-minute adjustment to the 2026 Water Ski Days Grand Parade route.

Due to ongoing construction on Garden Street, the Chamber has elected to modify the parade route to avoid the unpaved intersection that was originally planned as part of the route. While organizers believed the intersection could be safely managed, it was ultimately determined that rerouting the parade would be in the best interest of both parade participants and spectators, according to a news release.

The revised route will continue north on South Garden Street to West Center Street, turn east onto West Center Street, north onto High Street, cross Highway 63, then proceed west on West Walnut Street before turning north onto North Prairie Street. The parade will conclude at McCahill Field as originally planned.

“We appreciate everyone’s flexibility as we make this adjustment,” said Heather Thomas, President and CEO of the Lake City Chamber of Commerce. “Safety is always our top priority, and this route change allows us to avoid the construction area while still providing a great parade experience for participants and spectators alike.”

Residents and visitors are encouraged to review the updated route map and plan accordingly for street closures and viewing locations.

“The Water Ski Days Grand Parade remains one of the festival’s signature events, drawing thousands of spectators to celebrate Lake City’s rich water skiing heritage and community spirit,” the chamber said.
