Beach house poised to proceed

The Lake City City Council came out of a workshop meeting Tuesday, May 8, with an apparent consensus that could bring an end to a long-simmering battle over replacing the marina beach house.

If the compromise survives a vote at Monday’s regular council meeting, the current structure is likely to be demolished sometime this year. Construction could begin on a replacement substantially similar to the marina board’s latest proposal soon afterward.
