Board of Adjustment approves density increase for downtown condominium project

After a wide-ranging conversation and a public hearing with testimony from a handful of residents and officials, the Lake City Board of Adjustment unanimously approved a density variance for a four-story, 26-unit condominium complex on the 300 block of South Lakeshore Drive.

A formula used by the city to determine the maximum density for multi-family residential development in the downtown zone would have allowed for 23 units.
