Council approves three lanes for Highway 61

A process that some trace back over a decade culminated Monday night with a 5-2 vote by the City Council to approve a contract with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) to convert the four-lane section of Highway 61 in Lake City to three lanes in 2020.

It was one of two items related to the project on the agenda for April 10 meeting. The other, a contract with the firm SEH to design the project, was tabled.
