EPA warns state over well water quality in southeastern Minnesota

The federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has asked the State of Minnesota for action on potentially hazardous amounts of nitrate in drinking water in roughly eight counties, including Goodhue and Wabasha.
The request came in a letter dated Nov. 3. It was in response to a petition submitted in April by the Minnesota Center of Environmental Advocacy and other groups.
