Hospice hearing motion dies at Nov. 21 county board meeting

A motion to hold a public hearing on a tax abatement for a proposed hospice in Lake City failed for lack of a second at the Nov. 21 Wabasha County Board meeting.

The motion followed a presentation from Lake City Economic Development Director Lisa Babington.

Board Cheryl Key, who represents Lake City, moved in favor, but there was no second, the motion died and the request was denied.

Don Springer was absent. County Administrator Michael Plante was present, along with County Attorney Karrie Kelly.
