Debt paid on St. Mary's gathering space
Parishioners at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church will celebrate a big accomplishment this weekend.
They will shred the mortgage on The Gathering Place, the huge addition built onto the church six years ago replacing the old McCahill school building.
Modest remodeling plans turned to disaster, then to big plans and finally success when the addition was built.
But for the past six years the elegant addition has served not only the needs of the parish but the community as well. Several community organizations, including Destination Lake City, meet there regularly.
