Soccer boys 1-1 to start season
The Lake City High School boys soccer season opened at home last week against St. Charles.
St. Charles has proved to be a competitive first match for Lake City over the past few years. Lake City fell short with a final score of 1-3.
Junior midfielder Alec McElmury scored the team’s only goal on a free kick.
The team faced Kasson-Mantorville on the road on Saturday, winning 2-1.
Coach Patrick Palmer praised the team on tightening up their coordination after the rough start at home.
