Members Present: Mayor Mark Nichols, Amy Alkire, Cindy McGrath, Russell Boe, Faye Brown, Brian Quinn, Megan Kramer
Members Absent: None
Staff Present: City Administrator Robert Keehn, City Clerk Kari Schreck, Finance Director Jerome Illg
Mayor Nichols called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. with a quorum present.
Motion Kramer, second Brown to adopt the agenda as presented. All ayes 7-0-0.
Discuss the 2023 liaison assignments for boards and commissions
Assignments will begin in January if there are changes.
Council can make the appointments one (1) or two (2) years.
Planning Commission & Board of Adjustments: Brown
Heritage Preservation Commission: Boe
Library Board: Kramer
Public Safety Board Merging with Streets & Parks Commission February 2023: McGrath
Utility Board: Kramer
Marina Board: McGrath
Ambulance Commission: Nichols
Environmental Commission: Alkire
Port Authority: Brown until March 2023; Alkire March 2023-March 2024 (1 year term); Nichols March 2023-March 2024 (2 year term)
Personnel Committee: Nichols, Brown, Quinn
Fire Department: Quinn
High Speed Rail: TBD
Hiawathaland Transit Committee: TBD
Lake City Medical Center Board of Trustees: Boe
Revolving loan committee: Alkire, Boe
Presentation of Cemstone general development plan
In March 2022, City Council authorized the Port Authority to execute the contract between the City of Lake City and SEH for the completion of a General Development Plan (GDP) on the former Cemstone site. Calin Richards of the Lake City Port Authority, presented the completed GDP, a preliminary cost estimate, potential grant opportunities for the site, and a summary of SEH’s recommendations and steps forward.
Motion Boe, second Quinn to adjourn at 5:50 p.m. All ayes 7-0-0. Motion carried.
