Matter convicted in 2003 infant death
On Friday, April 28, Jennifer Lynn Matter, 51, was sentenced pursuant to a guilty plea to one count of Murder in the Second Degree, With Intent – Not Premeditated in connection with the death of her newborn child which occurred in December, 2003, according to the Goodhue County Attorney’s Office.
The child’s body was discovered on the beach in Old Frontenac.
The defendant received a presumptive sentence under the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines of 326 months commitment to the custody of the Commissioner of Corrections.
