Goodhue County staff forced to defend workload

Human Resource Director Melissa Cushing told members of the Goodhue County Board, at the March 15 meeting, that Public Works Director Greg Isakson had requested to fill a highway maintenance position, which will be vacant soon, due to an upcoming retirement. Isakson was also requesting to fill a second position, when another employee comes forward with his retirement notice.
Cushing said one member of the personnel committee approved the request, and the other, Commissioner Ron Allen, had concerns, and wanted to discuss the issue further before making a decision.
