Area state parks to close for special deer hunts

Frontenac and Whitewater state parks will close for special deer hunts for certain dates in November, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources:
Whitewater State Park in Altura will be closed Nov. 16-17 for firearms hunt.
Frontenac State Park in Frontenac will be closed Nov. 23-24 for firearms hunt.
The hunts’ purpose is to prevent overpopulation of deer and to protect other resources.
