NASA rescue stories a hit at LCHS Open Hours
If you were unable to attend the Lake City Historical Society’s (LCHS) Open Hours event last Tuesday, you missed a wonderful narration of the return and rescue of the Apollo 10 astronauts following the 1969 Moon Landing.
LCHS Board Member Bill Stiene was a seaman on the USS Hornet operating the elevator that brought the capsule on board and was featured on a television segment on the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
His eyewitness account of this historic mission and the people involved was informative, amusing and very engaging.
