Motion Brown, second McGrath to adopt the agenda as presented. All ayes 7-0-0.
Discuss LELS wages and contract
City Administrator Keehn provided the wages for 2014-2025 for council to review, as he has received a request from the LELS Union to open the contract for wage negotiations. Wages from surrounding communities were also provided and discussed. Chief Kubista stated that retention is a concern for him, and while Lake City is not at the bottom of the wages presented, there is room for consideration in a pay increase for his personnel based on the surrounding communities pay structures.
Council by consensus agreed to have this come to the April council meeting for action to open the contract for wage negotiations, but they agreed to nothing more than a discussion on the topic.
Discuss community funding initiatives
Keehn requested council input on development of a process for requests that come to the city for consideration and funding. He is hoping to develop a one-page checklist with input from the Council and City departments. Some things to consider are requests and how they impact the City Comprehensive Plan, the City budget, City staffing, ongoing maintenance etc. He will work on a draft for Council to review at a future date.
Motion McGrath, second Boe to adjourn the meeting at 5:55 p.m. All ayes 7-0-0.
