Verena Rademacher Obituary

Verena S. Rademacher, 83, of Plainview, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, April 28, 2016.
    She was born on Aug. 26, 1932, in Wabasha County to Kermit and Mildred (Laqua) Becker. She grew up in rural Theilman and graduated from Plainview High School in 1950.
    On May 22, 1953, she married Philip H. Rademacher. They lived in the Plainview/Theilman area for 47 years until his death in 2000. Verena was employed at Bates Variety, Kaupa Locker Plant and Plainview Public Schools. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Theilman. Verena enjoyed volunteering with bingo on Wednesdays at the Plainview nursing home. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and always looked forward to her monthly breakfast outing with her brothers and sisters-in-law.
    Verena is survived by two daughters, Linda (Tim) Hynes of Plainview and Laurie (Earl) Schmit of Plainview; two granddaughters, Brenda (Jeremy) Tesch of Rushford and Rebecca Hynes of Rochester; two grandsons, Jeremy Schmit and Chad Schmit of Plainview; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Shelby Tesch; two brothers, Delmar (Kathleen) Becker of Plainview and Gene (Rojean) Becker of Lake City; and sister-in-law, Gertrude Schurhammer of Wabasha. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Dale, and granddaughter, Jennifer Hynes.
    Funeral mass will be Tuesday, May 3, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Theilman with Fr. James Russell officiating. Burial is at St. Joseph Cemetery in Theilman. Visitation is Monday, May 2, 5 p.m.. to 8 p.m. at Schad and Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. A prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
