Brand earns Niman Ranch scholarship
Lake City native Thomas Brand received a Niman Ranch Next Generation Foundation scholarship, according to a news release.
The award was part of over $280,000 distributed to 64 “young farmers and rural leaders in scholarships and grants, reinforcing the brand’s long-standing efforts to help family farms thrive for generations to come,” the news release said.
Brand is pursuing a degree in plastics engineering at the University of Wisconsin - Stout. He is the son of Jeff and Jana Brand and is in his second year of college.
