Kiwanis hears from Friends of Hok-Si-La Park member Patty Svien

Patty Svien, treasurer of the new group Friends of Hok-Si-La Park (FHSLP), was welcomed by Kiwanian Dean Flugstad to bring Kiwanis up to date on this volunteer group and HSLP history.
The history goes back thousands of years when native Americans found this land to be favorable for their camps and access to Lake Pepin. Early on white settlers had their own government and school there independent of Lake City and named it Rest Island.
