Letter: Three lanes are much safer

To the editor: 
Some are asking why Lake City would want to go to three lanes through town in lieu of four.  I’ve heard, “Why fix it if it isn’t broken?”  I believe it is broken in that our downtown is not safe for pedestrians because vehicles are trying to get through Lake City in a hurry.  Vehicles use the four lanes to pass others going the speed limit and those making left-hand turns.
