Three lane, hotel appear dead

Lake City voters on Tuesday elected three people to the City Council and turned down a ballot measure that all but kills plans for a new downtown hotel.

The election also puts an almost certain stop to plans to convert Highway 61 to a three-lane highway through the city.

The future of plans for a comprehensive plan for riverfront and downtown development were less certain.
