Tourism Bureau: Council should think long-term about Hwy. 61 vote
To the editor:
Our mayor has outlined our community’s “five pillars” and if we look at the proposed highway 61 project from this perspective it seems to be very clear that reconstruction makes sense versus a mill and overlay. Here are our observations.
Public safety:
• Proven to reduce accidents
• Allows for two new pedestrian crossings near the Dairy Queen and AmericInn
• Allows for addition of new sidewalks on the north end of the highway at no cost
