Letter: Local cancer fighters lobby for palliative care access
To the editor:
We recently traveled to St. Paul to participate in the American Cancer Society (ACS) Cancer Action Network’s (CAN) Day at the Capitol, where we met with our local lawmakers to talk about the issues important to our community.
ACS CAN is working on several initiatives at the Capitol this year, all designed with cancer patients and their families in mind. One specific initiative that resonates most with us is an effort to establish an advisory council to improve patients’ access to palliative care.
