Becky Toole Obituary

Becky Toole, 66, of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester.
She was born in Lake City on March 26, 1951 to Robert and Mary (Stuhr) Angell. Becky grew up in Lake City and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1969. She went on to attend cosmetology school in Rochester.  She then moved to Mississippi and worked at the Officer’s Club on Columbus Air Force Base in Columbus, Miss., where she met the love of her life, David Deginan Toole. The whirlwind romance began with  secret kisses in the walk-in cooler. They began married life together on Oct. 22, 1971 in Providence, R.I.  They made their home in Providence where Becky worked at Gladding’s Department Store as an office manager. In 1976, they moved back to Lake City where Becky worked at  Pirates Landing, Pepin Inn, Brown’s Fairway, Wise Ace Hardware, and Hegseth’s and Big Bear Get-N-Go for 17 years. Becky was active as a Camp Fire leader and Methodist Church youth softball and youth group leader, Vacation Bible School teacher, and the Red Hat Society with her sisters in Lake City. She was a ticket taker for the local high school basketball games for years. Mrs. Toole enjoyed traveling to Pella, Iowa, annually, for the Tulip Festival, and went on tours to regional destinations such as Branson, the Bridges of Madison County and the Amana Colonies with her sisters. Treasure Island and Turtle Lake casinos were local draws for overnight get-a-ways where she played nickel slots. Becky was a huge fan of all types of music - particularly Irish music. She loved going to live music events and even met her favorite singer Daniel O’Donnell on more than one occasion. She enjoyed watching soap operas, game shows with her husband, and Call the Midwife with her daughter. Most of all she enjoyed spending time laughing with her family - her son especially, and friends.
Becky is survived by her husband, David Toole of Lake City; two children, Megan Toole of Lake City and Connor Toole of Columbia Heights, Minn.; two sisters, Barbara Todeff of Durand, Wis. and Laurie Voorhees of Red Wing; five brothers, Robert Angell of Pine Haven, Wyo., Gary Angell of Wabasha, Rick (Rayne) Angell of Hammond, Shawn  Angell of Everette, Wash. and Corey Angell of Annandale Minn.; and her special dog, Indy (Top Spin or Pork Chop).
