Soccer girls open on road

The Lake City High School girls soccer team started off the new season on the road and suffered two losses despite some very promising play.  The Tigers were returning only six players from last year’s varsity team.
First up was a trip to St. Charles Aug. 27 against a Saints team that beat the Tigers twice last season.  Lake City gave up a goal early in the game off a deflection from one of the Tiger defenders and struggled to find much offense or possession in the first half.  The Saints scored three more goals in the half to take a 4-0 halftime lead.
