Feeling for bumps: City Council investigates state bonding prospects

The Lake City City Council wants to be in a position to capitalize on circumstances that could bring a major element of the city’s downtown and waterfront master plan into existence at a substantially reduced cost to the city.

The design firm Stantec’s vision for the city this year included three “bump-outs” protruding from the shore into Lake Pepin. On the surface would be park land for people to experience the lake. Below would be a stormwater treatment apparatus.
