Council votes to fund Lake City Area Arts

Lake City Area Arts can add the City of Lake City to its list of financial supporters.
The City Council voted at its Jan. 8 meeting to contribute $7,000 to the arts non-profit, which is positioning itself as an umbrella group offering resources for local arts groups and arts and cultural events for the public.
Speaking on behalf of the group at the meeting, board member Jil Garry said studies have shown that there is a large return on investment in the arts.
