Legion baseball is outplayed by Caledonia
The Lake City Legion baseball team was defeated 12-0 in five innings by host team Caledonia Monday night as a combination of walks, hit batters, errors (mental and physical) and timely hitting did the Post 110 team in.
Caledonia, who placed third in the State Class AA High School Tournament earlier this month, scored nine runs in the first inning to put the game on ice.
“They’re still in the mode,” said Lake City Coach Dave Scharpen. “You have to give credit to them — they’re better than we are.”
