Arlene Roberson obituary

Arlene Mae Roberson, 87, of Lake City and formerly of Zumbro Falls, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020 at the Lake City Care Center in Lake City. She was born Aug. 21, 1933 in Elgin to Kenneth and Mabel (Miller) Haggerty. She attended elementary school at the Welke School and Hammond School and graduated from Rochester High School in 1951.  She married Donald Roberson on April 19, 1952 at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Potsdam.
The Robersons owned and operated Millville Plumbing from 1959 until Don’s retirement. Arlene owned and operated Arlene’s Green House in rural Zumbro Falls and did day care for several years. She also had a Post-Bulletin delivery route for many years. Arlene enjoyed gardening and had quite the ‘green thumb’, she also loved watching the birds and sewing. She also loved traveling with Don and taking many trips. Arlene moved to Lake City in 2015 after Don’s death. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City and enjoyed helping with the Community Thanksgiving Dinner the church put on each year. Arlene entered the Lake City Care Center in 2017. She also volunteered at the care center with plant care.
Arlene is survived by her children and grandchildren, Gayle Deobald of Zumbro Falls and her children Jordan, Katie, Logan (Maddie), and Clayton; Rhonda (James) Harkins of Lake City and her children Emmy and Brody; Chad (Michelle) Roberson of Zumbro Falls and his children Caleb, Luke and Madelyn; and the late Randy Roberson (Cindy Austin), and his children, Shawn and Randi; 10 great-grandchildren, Alexa, Summer, Levi, Elaina, Riley, Izik, Eli, Raeya, Carter, and Cayden; a brother, Kenneth (Mary) Haggerty, Jr. of Goodhue, five sisters, Dora Lee (John) Sprenger, Joanne Nord, Sharon (Russell) Billings, and Rita (Don) Tollesfrud, all of Rochester, and Diane (Sid) Anderson of Lake City; and sisters-in-law Dorothy Potterf and Virginia Gunderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Mark and Randy; daughter, Donna; son-in-law, Scott Deobald; brother, Gary Haggerty; and sister, Marlys Larson.
A walk-through visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 30, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel, masks are required and please practice social distancing. A private family service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 31 with Pastor Steven Frentz officiating. Burial following in the Zumbro Falls Cemetery.
