Barbara Marshall Obituary
Barbara Jean Marshall, 68, of Lake City, formerly of St. Paul passed away at her home on Saturday, March 19. 2016.
She was born Nov. 12, 1947 in St. Paul to Roy and Irene (Croft) Whaley. She grew up in East St. Paul and graduated from Harding High School. She married Wayne Loeffler and the couple had one son together. They later divorced. She later married John Marshall in St. Paul and they had a son. In 1979 the couple and their children moved to Lake City where they made their home. Barbara worked at the Lake City Graphic as a type setter and at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church as the secretary. Together, she and John started the Great River Vineyard in Lake City. Barbara enjoyed spending time at Camp Brigadoon on Kidney Lake near Cumberland Wisconsin and fishing. Barb had a great love for music and playing musical instruments. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family and friends.
Barbara is survived by two sons, Donovan (Wade Otis) Marshall of Madison, Wis. and Christopher Marshall of Lake City; three grandchildren, Lauren, Annabelle and Daniel Marshall; one sister, Susan (Charlie) Wollenberg of St. Paul; one niece, Barb (Pete) St. Sauver of St. Paul; and one nephew, Rick (Lisa) Wollenberg of St. Paul. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Irene.
A Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Lake City with Fr. Michael Schulenberg officiating. A visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 1 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City.
