Bernadine Anding obituary
Bernadine Ann Anding (“Bunny”), 81, of Lake City, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at the Care Center in Lake City.
Bunny was born on August 31, 1944, in Virginia, Minnesota, to Bernard (“Scotty”) and Angeline (“Angie”) Zulsdorf. She graduated from Virginia High School and attended cosmetology school.
On November 6, 1965, she married Fred Anding, with whom she shared over sixty years of marriage. They raised two daughters, Jodi (Scott) Fruncek and Staci (Paul) Oliver. Bunny began her career as a hairdresser, later owned the Ben Franklin (Z to A Variety) store in Lake City, and also worked at Minnesota State College Southeast, Red Wing Campus.
A woman of strong faith, Bunny was an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Garden Club, and Woman’s Club. She loved spending time at Lake 14, hosting family gatherings, crafting, sewing, flower arranging, dancing, and cooking. Known as a “second mom” to many of her daughters’ friends, she will be remembered for her generosity, warmth, and love for family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Fred; daughters, Jodi (Scott) Fruncek and Staci (Paul) Oliver; “more of a sister than a friend,” Sally Niemi; grandchildren, Austin (Kaily) Bricco, Brandyn (Lexi) Oliver, and Jesse (Samantha) Oliver, and Hannah (Laquan) Newell; great-grandchildren Myla, Scottie, and Henry; and four cherished grand pups.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lake City Food Shelf. Arrangements by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel.
