Betty Miller Obituary
Betty A. Miller, 96, of Lake City, died on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic Health System - Lake City Care Center.
Betty was born on June 5, 1921 in Kellogg to George and Anna (Stamschror) Hager. She graduated as the valedictorian from Kellogg High School in 1939. She married Ralph X. Miller on April 27, 1943 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg. For many years the couple made their home in Wabasha, moving to Lake City in 1968. Betty worked as a nursing assistant for many years at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Wabasha. She also worked as a sales clerk at Ben Franklin in Wabasha and at Marien’s Market in Lake City. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters and WCCW.
Betty is survived by her six sons, David (Myriam) Miller of Fredericksburg, Texas, George Miller of Lake City, Bernard (Irma) Miller of East Haddam, Conn., Steven (Laural) Miller of Winona, Ralph (Barbara) Miller of Mazeppa and Jerome Miller of Lake City; three daughters, Ann (Paul) Groth of Frontenac, Mary (Allen) Holmes of Lake City and Anita (Tim) Bennick of Winona; 16 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one brother, Francis Hager of Waseca, Minn.. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, Louis, Harold, Charles, Robert, Joe and Art Hager; and sisters, Marie Hager and Sister Agnes Hager.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Pete officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson Peterson Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
