Carole Berge obituary

Carole Therese Berg, 86, of Lake City, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus with her family by her side. She was born February 5, 1939, in Walnut Lake Township, Faribault County, Minnesota to William and G. Bernice (Dulas) Warmka. Carole grew up attending Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School in Easton, Minn. and graduated from Wells High School graduating in 1957. She went on to attend the College of St. Teresa graduating in 1961 with a Chemistry and Math degree. On June 15, 1968, she married the love of her life Peter Berg at St. John’s Catholic Church in Rochester.
Carole was employed by Mayo Clinic for 38 years. After living and working in Rochester since 1965 Carole and Peter moved to Lake City in 2008. Carole was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, Rochester Quilt Sew-Ciety, Lake City Kiwanis, and the Lake City Area Arts.
Carole is survived by her children, Kirsten Berg of Wabasha, and Benjamin (Jill Gooselaw) Berg of Crystal; two grandchildren Olivia and Charles; a sister, Charlotte (William) Helfritz of Watertown, Minn.; a brother, William (Sharon) Warmka of Tucson, Ariz.; and several in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Janet, four brothers, Robert, Gary, Bryan, and Warren, and several in-laws.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 28, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Father Thé Hoang officiating. The burial will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 28, at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Friends and family may visit on Thursday, February 27, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
