Cheryl Grobe Obituary

Cheryl “Cheri” A. Grobe, 71, of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 at Preferred Senior Living Memory Care Center in Ellsworth, Wis.
    She was born on Jan. 30, 1945 in Long Prairie, Minn. to Clarence and Velma (Dinkel) Minke. She was a 1963 graduate of Long Prairie High School and a 1964 graduate of Northwest Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology.  In September 1971, Cheri was united in marriage to James Grobe. Cheri worked in Madison, S.D. two years before moving to Lake City where she worked for Dr. Sontag and Dr. Feigal until their retirement. She then worked at Fairview Medical Clinic in Red Wing until she retired in 2008. Cheri had a strong faith, and she enjoyed going to lunch with friends, reading, going for walks, and spending time with family and friends.
    Cheri is survived by her husband, James; two sons, Mason (Emily) Grobe of Lake City and Lance (Nicole) Grobe of Hutchinson; and five grandchildren, Avery, Portland, Lane, Addison and Dylan. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Rhonda Neibur.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Fr. Joseph Pete officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
    Arrangements are with Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences can be sent to www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
