Colin Fowler obituary

Colin Fowler, age 86 of Lake City, Minn. delivered laughter until the end.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Coleen Sue Fowler.  The immediate surviving family members include his brother Donald, his six boys, Dale (Diane), Mark (Candy), Tracey (Anna), Colin, Charles (Lynne), Chris (Stacy).  Additionally, Colin’s life was blessed with 13 grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces and an extended family.
Colin was the second son in a family of five siblings from Colin and Alice Fowler.  Colin served five years in the United States Air Force during time of peace in between the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Throughout Colin’s career, his vocations included small business ownership, hospitality, printing, and sales.
As a steward of the community, Colin gave back by volunteering at church was a member of various Bible study groups, Lake City Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, the VFW and the American Legion.  His involvement in the community was present through coaching, officiating, score box announcing and he was also the league commissioner.  “Coach,” is what the kids called him from Lakeville youth soccer and basketball.  He will be missed.
A celebration of Life will be at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 110 S. Oak St., Lake City, Minn. on Saturday, December 16. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., ceremony at 12:30 p.m.  Lunch will be served immediately after the service at the VFW in Lake City.
