Dorothy White Obituary

Dorothy White, 87, of Lake City passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Lake City Hospital.
    She grew up in Chula Vista, Calif. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1945. Dorothy married James Calvin White on Aug. 13, 1946 in Chula Vista. They lived in California where Dorothy worked as a grocery clerk until retiring in 1987.  They then moved to Minnesota to be with their children.  James passed away in 1999. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City. She enjoyed painting, and most of all, spending time with friends and family.
    She is survived by two daughters, Betty (Peter) Weckman of Fla. and Jean Nye of Lake City; one son, James (Pamela) White of Lake City; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Ernestine (Lee) Woodworth of San Diego, Calif.; and one brother, Paul (Karen) Nichols of San Diego, Calif. She is preceded in death by her husband; one son, Charlie; a son-in-law, Roger Nye; one grandchild, one brother and two sisters.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 6, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Fr. Joseph Pete officiating. Burial will be at Frontenac Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel, Lake City is handling the services.
